Proceeds from this race go to Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP). Here at Westmark we are determined to help those in our community, and we know that SHP has done great things not only in our community, but throughout the country. According to the East Idaho Home Builders Association, over 600 children in East Idaho are in need of beds. Of those children, 400 live in Idaho Falls.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a non profit organization that started in Twin Falls, ID in 2012. It was founded on the idea that no child should have to go to sleep on the floor, but that every child deserves a comfortable bed upon which they can lay their head. In fact, their slogan is "No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in our Town." The organization has grown over the last 8 years to having 200 chapters throughout the U.S., building over 35,000 beds! Money donated to SHP not only goes to the building of the bed but in acquiring bedding (sheets, blankets, pillows, mattresses), assembly of the beds, and creating new opportunities for the organization to grow nation wide.
This event has a 1 mile, 5k and 10k course. It will start a Snake River Landing 901 Pier View. Pick up will be begin at 8. Race will begin at 9.
